Dr. Nischelle Kalakota, is a highly skilled physician who completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Rutgers Biomedical & Health Sciences. Her medical training includes a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and an M.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She also holds a Master of Science in Human Physiology from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Arts in Brain Behavior and Cognitive Science with a minor in Sociocultural Anthropology from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Kalakota’s contributions to the field have been recognized through several honors, such as being a finalist for the Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Young Investigator Award and receiving the University of Cincinnati Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Robert W. Rebar Award.

Her research is extensive and covers several important areas within reproductive endocrinology. Notable projects include investigating endometrial gene expression of adhesion G protein-coupled receptors using RNA-sequencing, examining the effects of elevated progesterone levels on endometrial receptivity and embryo quality during the use of assisted reproductive technologies (ART), and developing a low-cost IVF program at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Kalakota is also exploring the role of artificial intelligence for assessing the endometrium during frozen embryo transfers. Dr. Kalakota’s scholarly work has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. She has also presented her research at major conferences such as the American Society for Reproductive Medicine Scientific Congress, Society for Reproductive Investigation Annual Scientific Meeting and the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society Annual Meeting. Her teaching experience includes lecturing to medical students and OBGYN residents, as well as presenting multiple Grand Rounds on topics including recurrent pregnancy loss and obstetrical complications associated with ART.

In addition to her clinical and research roles, Dr. Kalakota has served in various leadership and community service positions. She has mentored medical students through the American Medical Women’s Association and advocated for maternal health at the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology Congressional Leadership Conference. During medical school she taught sexual health classes to underserved women in the community and was employed as a tutor at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
