The Single-Parent Journey with Aspire Fertility
The decision to build a family isn’t unique to couples—there are many single people who feel the desire to have a child regardless of whether they have a partner. While the idea of choosing to be a single parent may sound daunting, it doesn’t have to be. At Aspire Fertility, we understand that families take many forms, and we are prepared to guide you through your single-parent journey with compassion and expertise.
For Women
At Aspire Fertility, we utilize a few different methods to help single women conceive. The first step is for the patient to purchase donor sperm from an FDA-approved sperm bank and arrange for the samples to be shipped to our laboratory, where we provide storage and care.
We generally begin treatment by performing a procedure called intrauterine insemination (IUI), which is more commonly known as artificial insemination. During this process, the sperm is specially prepared before being implanted directly into your uterus. To increase the likelihood of conception, the sperm implantation is scheduled to coincide with your ovulation cycle.
In the event that the IUI procedure is not the best treatment option for you, we also offer in vitro fertilization (IVF) services using donor sperm.
For Men
Aspire Fertility is also prepared to assist men in becoming single parents. This can be accomplished using the patient’s own sperm, a donor egg, and a gestational surrogate. A gestational surrogate is a woman who carries and gives birth to a baby for a soon-to-be parent. By using a surrogate, you have the opportunity to become a father to a child who is genetically related to you.
The first step in the process is for the patient to connect with a surrogate through one of the many agencies in the United States. The patient must also purchase an egg from a donor facility. Aspire Fertility can help you navigate these systems so that you find the best possible match.
When everything is in order, we begin a multistep process that involves fertilizing the donor egg with your sperm and performing preimplantation genetic screening (PGS). Once there’s a viable embryo, it’s transferred to the surrogate’s uterus.
